Description
Brilliant dog. Very good health. Well trained and obedient. Good mannered. Likes walks and play but will also rest and be calm when needed. Unfortunately my son is afraid of him and Shadow shows his dominant side to him. Hates cats.
PetRehomer says: This big boy is Shadow, the Dobermann looking for his fur-ever home as he currently lives with a young child with Autism who is intimidated by Shadow's size and boisterous nature.
He's a playful boy who likes to play with the child but due to the child's specific needs, it's become harder for his owner to keep them separated and keep an eye on them playing all the time. Shadow doesn't realise he's a big boy (45kg of pure muscle) and can sometimes knock the child down. When playing with the football, Shadow will try and take the ball from him but doesn't try this with adults, therefore showing his more dominant side towards the child. Therefore he is looking for a child-free home or a home with older teens/adults only.
He has had professional residential dog training and listens to commands really well. He's well behaved on walks but his recall can be on and off. He can walk past dogs, even if they're barking at him. He can be let off leash and most of the time has no interest in other dogs but on occasion he wants to play with another dog and doesn't come back. He's walked around 1 hour a day but a zoomie around the garden is also enough to tire him out.
He is crate trained. He would prefer to be the only pet at home as he lives with a cat who he doesn't get on with.
He's had his flea/worm treatment and jabs up to date.
